I have tutored various students ranging from elementary, junior high to college undergraduates in Italian (my mother tongue) and French. I am very passionate about the student's interest in learning another language (I speak 4 languages) and honor their interest by offering a really caring approach: learning a foreign language widens perspectives and knowledge. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated in 2004 in International and Intercultural Communication from George Mason University. While in college, I tutored Italian to students enrolled in the Italian study abroad program and majoring in Italian. I did single and group sessions. I attended from elementary to high school Italian speaking schools in Italy. At the moment, I work as a consultant for an Italian bank in Manhattan.
I teach by the book all the grammar and syntax rules. Then, when the student is enough confident to make a basic conversation, I choose an everyday scenario and try to build the conversation around it. I also focus a lot on the writing, especially when wanting to use it for business. Business Italian is very formal and not straight forward like English and so needs a lot of practice and dedication. A Little Bit About Me...

People have told me all my life what a great teacher I would be. I have also been fortunate to have acquired a vast number of friends who are not native born Americans. As such, I have always helped them learn English. It was one of the reasons I chose to study International Relations as a Master's candidate, to learn more about the world. I have spent the last 11 years helping people from all cultures learn my native language, and it is a very rewarding experience.
My teaching style is one of speed. I narrow in on the student's weaknesses and acquire any and all information that helps them address that.

As my parents always told me, I believe that education is a transcendent part of everybody's lives. I have earned a BS in Biochemical Engineering, and almost a BS in Apply Mathematics, at Rutgers University. Since I was in my native country I had a very clear goal in mind. I am a firm believer in learning the basics in foreign language. You must first build a foundation on which to place additional building blocks of knowledge. I use a commercial grammar text and workbook, which I select according to the needs and age of the specific student. We work through grammar and exercises with cultural lessons included. I include practice in conversation and composition as well. We work on any class-related material and address specific concerns of the student. Although I believe one-on-one teaching to be the most beneficial to the student, I enjoy teaching small groups.
