I found the ability to help others succeed very rewarding, and began tutoring fellow classmates in courses including but not limited to English, math, biology, and chemistry. These sometimes difficult subject always made sense to me and I enjoyed watching as the students I tutored were successful. While earning this degree I volunteered in an after school program tutoring under-priveledged children in the Tallahassee area. A Little Bit About Me...

To develop responsible learners who will succeed in and contribute to a changing world is vital! Because of this, a student-centered education is important. A constructivism approach to learning is very important to me as opposed to the behavioralist approach that has dominated education. I strive to actively engage students in their own education. Also, it is important to me to determine the best learning style to use for each individual student. I am pleasant, outgoing and have a great sense of humor. I am dedicated and enthusiastic and patient and caring and I love teaching.
I have many and varied experiences in teaching music in the public schools and privately for over 30 years. I have my bachelors degree in music education-k-12 and I have almost finished my Master's degree in Music Education. My teaching experience includes classroom, vocal-choral, piano and band. I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student. My teaching style works around this philosphy and tends to be a combination of all 3 styles.
Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented. I also have 3 years of experience helping children by teaching swimming lessons. Assisting my 15-year-old sister with her school work is also a regular activity.
