I was committing 2 to 3 hours a week of ESL, math and science tutoring junior high students from immigrant family background at Abraham Lincoln High School. I enjoy helping others learn. It is a compliment when someone asks for your help. After tutoring and substitute teaching for about 2 years, I have learned that students comprehend material in many different ways. I have been a guest speaker at Middle Schools on economics and have worked with youth as a sports coach for fifteen years. My career has been in Marketing where I have risen to the top of organizations in part due to my development of young talent to its highest potential.
As in sports coaching, I believe that an academic tutor's main goal is to put the student in a position to be successful. My approach is different for each student based on how they best learn.
