Since I have the opportunity to work one-on-one with students on a daily basis I try to tailor my teaching style to each student. When students are more visual I try to use photos or stories to explain concepts. However, when students learn better by reading I allow them to do so, and discuss the reading after they have had time to absorb the information. I feel like I have to adjust to each student's individual learning style when trying to teach.
I am currently working towards my Masters Degree in School Counseling and work as an intern at McCaskey High School. I have about two years experience as teacher. I taught for a brief period of time in 1977 when I taught Chemistry and Biology at a high school in Lagos Nigeria. I also helped students in college who had difficulty with Math between 1978 when I was a student at Camden County College in Blackwood New Jersey.
