My comments on tutoring Russian : Native speaker of Russian with Master's Degrees earned in Russian and in English

I have been tutoring students of Russian for 7 years, on and off. Russian, quite frankly, is a difficult tongue to learn in adulthood, with its sprawling grammar system and many changing word endings; I believe that vocabulary generation and sentence construction are should be prioritized over grammar during early stages of learning so that student become active user of the language early on. I take every measure to help students feel active and empowered rather than overwhelmed by an alien hostile force; students are encouraged to be intuitive and creative with whatever vocabulary they have already internalized rather than be paralyzed by rigid adherence to the quite onerous grammar.

I graduated with a Business Degree, currently involved in Master's of Teaching Mathematics program. During my college I helped tutor many students with a variety of needs, mainly math and science. This lead me to develop passion for tutoring. I believe any child or student can be helped, it is a matter of process.
