How Much Do You Know About What You Know?

1. Assess student's current understanding of course material by asking a few questions and having student write a page summary. 2. Student and I again review material and locate gaps. 3. Student and I make timeline (or other visual aid). 4. Student is provided with study skills (reading, writing and memory- I'll bring these) 5. Again review course materials, incorporating new study skills. 6. Student and I search for real-life examples (current events/news, possible field trips, attending relevant events).

I have worked as a tutor for 10 years in all subjects, especially focusing on ESL learners. Recently, I have worked in an ESL school (FLS International) with university age students seeking to matriculate into American Universities. Before that, I worked in South Korea teaching English. I really pride myself in personalizing my tutoring. I try to never have more than 6-7 students at a time so that I can provide the best possible personalization of teaching to each student.
