Seeing the look and smile on the face of a student that finally grasps a concept, or realizes they have just read on their own for the first time, OH What a Feeling!!! I take each child as their own individual knowing they have their own needs in learning a subject. I teach in several different ways as to ensure the child grasps what they need. I see children today as my future for tomorrow, so helping them and making a difference in their lives will make a difference in mine. I have not forgotten any individual I have helped to this day. After graduating in 1996, I opened my own tutoring service in Dickson, TN. I tutored individuals from public schools and home school in Math, Reading, and several other subjects needed until 2001. I believe students will always be frustrated till they learn the material and if you make it interesting and related to them personally it tends to elivate the frustration and to feel more comfortable with the material. I am presently looking at obtaining my teaching certificate to teach elementary school at one point and time. My father's family is spanish so I speak a some. I am not fully fluent. I have always had an interest in teaching. I graduated from college with my AA while working with the University of Michigan Department of Hospital Finance Training. From there I took some time off to finish my degrees. While going for my BA I worked with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and was elected President of the Auxiliary and of the District. My convictions for teaching are deeply rooted. Being a teacher is at the core of who I am. I am patient, understanding, and considerate with each child. I maintain a positive attitude, full of encouragement, in order to provide the best education possible. I believe that if teachers are able to have positive attitudes and project a general attitude of success and achievement, students are more likely to believe that they can achieve. Before we can teach a student anything, we must first instill in them the belief that they are capable of succeeding. If we can spark interest in a student and then project that positive attitude in a safe, productive learning community, we give each student a chance to succeed.
