Literally all my life I have been asked by students, parents and teachers to help students who were having trouble. I get tremendous fulfillment from watching someone who has been frustrated finally "get it." In addition to teaching music lessons, tutoring all subjects, and homeschooling my own two children, I have worked for the last 17 years with a private school. There I have taught a wide variety of subjects, but they depend on me the most heavily for high school sciences and maths. A Little Bit About Me...

I am very interactive with the student and I want them to see me as a friend. I for one do not like to be told what to do and how to do it, that never helps me learn. It is better when you feel you are working towards a common goal with your superior. I want my student to feel free to talk to me about anything, and to enjoy learning the material he or she is struggling with. You simply do not learn as much when you dread coming into the classroom everyday. I like to make games out of the work. Whether that has to do with an intensive game to really build the learning level, or a game just to release some tension and build my students confidence.

A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have a well-rounded education, most of my knowledge and work experience is in mathematics (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus plus the related fields of accounting, computers, and engineering). My college education at Purdue University was interrupted due to financial reasons, but I returned to Lake-Sumter Community College at night while working full time and earned an AA degree. I know how important education is! I believe I am a natural teacher when it comes to mathematics and related fields - I helped my fellow students in high school during study halls, tutored through the National Honor Society, was my son’s private tutor, and assist my co-workers with their accounting and computer skills.
