I am a Systems Engineer with a BS in Business and a MS in Computer Science. Systems Engineering involves getting disparate systems, equipment, and/or people to work together to accomplish a goal. It requires broad knowledge of many subjects and the ability to communicate that knowledge, clearly and unambiguously, either orally or in writing, to others. I am a former naval officer with a current TS/SCI clearance. To maintain this clearance I must remain above reproach in all conduct, public and private. I have experience with teaching having completed three semesters of internships through my undergraduate and graduate programs; I taught Kindergarten, First and Seventh grades. In said roles, I was given full control of the classroom by my mentoring supervisors. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and impacting young lives (most of these students came from low socio-economic backgrounds and were gravely in need of guidance). The most important element of achieving success in school is self confidence. The way I help build that in children is by being extremely positive, supportive, and full of praise. I observe their behavior carefully to make sure they truly understand what they are being taught. When something is challenging to a child, I try different methods until I know it “clicked”. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is one of encouragement and positive reinforcement. I always conveyed the importance of good study habits and how vital it was to their success. I taught them that education is an ongoing process with failure as well as successes, but whatever the outcome, they must always put forth their best effort.
