My comments on tutoring Dyslexia : My daughter is special needs and I have worked very closely with all of her teacher's and special needs advocate throughout the years which has given me many opportunities to get very familiar with the work that is done year after year. Again, my daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia at a very young age and it just gave us a way of teaching her a new way of learning and living. She is unique just like I believe every child is and they all need to understand how they can achieve greatness in learning because every child can. With dyslexia it's about organization and seeing things differently than the average person.

I have voluteered as a hebrew teacher, crafts teacher and worked as an assistant child care teacher in the past. I have 26 years of parenting, schooling doing endless hours of homework with my children as well as going to College myyself for 7 years. I worked in customer service which allowed me to wrk closely with HR. I also trained people on a regular basis which is teaching. I have worked as a freelance Graphic designer and volunteer for my Church since 2009. I am always updating myself on the new and improved software when I can as well as keeping up with graphic design trends. I have been working with Microsoft Office software since 2009 since I started College and now I have become an expert at it. I am always teaching when it comes to computer software programs or graphic design softwares.
I believe that every child is unique and they each have their own style of learning wh ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a licensed and certified school psychologist in private practice. Currently, I am supervising 8 teachers for an SAT company and also teaching the Verbal component of this course. I have several years tutoring in Spanish as well as coursework completed at the U of Ct. I have tutored all subjects for over 20 years (except triganometry and calculus).
I believe all students can improve and achieve. I think a tutor must bring enthusiasm and skill to the table when working with students. A tutor must be encouraging and have a refined set of social skills to relate to administrators, parents, and the student. I strive to make all students wiser and more confident as they complete each tutoring session.

I have work experience in teaching students with ECDD, Autism, Mental Retardation, Speech Impaired, Learning Disabilities, and other health impaired. The diversity of my academic preparation and work experience, from my internship as a teacher in a mental institution to employment as a Special Education teacher, has prepared me to be an effective educator. I have been working in the field of education for over 20 years. During the last five years I have been tutoring children with special needs in basic skills and organizational areas. I have also tutored students from preschool to sixth grade in all academic areas.
I believe that in order to effectively reach a child, a teacher must understand children and enjoy being in their company. Every child has a unique method of understanding information, and my job is to find what that learning style may be for each student. An effective teacher has a sense of hum ... read more
