Teaching others cannot be defined by one style of teaching. The way to teach is by learning first how the student receives the information. Auditory learners and Visual learners require two different methods of teaching. The key is to make the information understandable to the student by breaking the information down in any format. My teaching style is compatable with the child's learning style. If they need visual instruction then it is visual. My style is mostly facilitator or demonstrator when tutoring. this is because the child needs you to show them the process more so that demonstrate what they know. Most children know some, just not enough to comprehend the entire process. when this happens, then I become a facilitator.
After receiving my Ed.D in Curriculum and Leadership, I decided to stay in the classroom. I currently instruct 4th and 5th grade students in Social Studies, Science and Math. A Little Bit About Me...

While attending Columbus State University, I volunteered by tutoring 2nd through 6th graders at the local Columbus Community Center. During which I also maintained a 3.00 GPA and graduated with a B.A. in Finance. While in college I found math to be my best subject and the area seemed to come to me as though it was second hand nature. In college, my degree required classes such as college algebra, statistics, quanitative analyze, intermediate accounting and financial analyze. While planning for a career in medicine, I obtained a BS in biology with a minor in Chemistry. During the application and acceptance process I was an adjunct faculty member at a local technical college. My courses taught were remedial Algebra, biology, and anatomy and physiology. During the hours between classes I was a paid Tutor in the college's learning assistance center.
I wouldn't have a "professional" description for teaching style as my education was solidly based in the sciences. However, I believe that by teaching intuitive thought processes and critical thinking skills, students can easily adapt to the tasks given be they in science or liberal arts.
