As a young adult, freshly graduated from high school at the age of nineteen, I chose to enlist in the military to, among other things, have the opportunity to travel and experience other diverse cultures throughout the world. These profound experiences have shaped the person I am today and have been instrumental in fostering my curiosity and resolution to better understand people from other cultures. Every student is different, therefore every student has different needs. Every student also can learn differently, whether it be by incorporating more or less visual learning strategies, auditory learning strategies, or using more of the "hands on" approach. Learning can be and should be fun! I love teaching a student to success and when they enjoy what they are doing they are much more likely to succeed!

I have a great deal of experience in educating students. I have earned my BA from Northern Illinois University in Communications, and I also have earned my MAT from Rockford College in Education. I have had my Type-03 Elementary Teaching Certificate since April of 2009. I have worked as a special education aide, student taught sixth grade language arts, and in the past year I have been a substitute teacher in Winnebago and Ogle County. I graduated from UW-Stevens Point with a degree in a Communication and a passion for enriching the youth in our community. Throughout my educational career I was always involved with a youth organization as either a Big Sister, basketball coach or a junior achievement volunteer.
