I am a United States Air Force veteran and I was responsible for training new airmen on the proper operation and maintenance of survey equipment. I assisted many of my co-workers with math modelling and geometry while they were pursuing their civil engineering degrees. I have 2 Bachelor degrees, BS in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech (GPA 3.29) and BS in Science from Georgia College and State University(GPA 3.72). What I have learned working with students is that many do not learn in the same manner. I beleive in what is called top process learning. Given the student a concept and allowing them to explore the possibilities of how one arrives at such a concept has allowed deeper critical thinking and strategic planning. However, this method is not predominately taught in Georgia education system. I have found this method to be very effective. The other method is patience. Students who strugge with their academic learning usually are having other areas of difficulty which may be social learning. Having clinical training allows me to make a more accurate assessment.

I get to know the children first then get them involved in the assingment with eagerness and excitement. Then the children are to go and show off their knowledge. That way they will know it much better than before. The knowlege is input into the student's brain, and then I have them output the knowledge; therefore it is being repeated, and instilled more and more into their brain everytime. I love to see children eager to learn, and even better try. I push the students who are struggling so that they will not get stepped on.
