Annabelle P. - Columbus, OH 43220 (4.2 mi) - Physics Tutor - $505.00/hr.
I have tutored three students: two middle school students in math, one high school student in AP biology. I also occasionally explain academic subjects to my friends and classmates.
Through my years of experience, I've found that it is most effective to make sure the students are really thinking. When they get stuck, I ask them questions to point them in the right direction, but I almost never give them the answer unless a lot of time would be wasted otherwise. I'm also very good at catching mistakes, but instead of pointing them out right away, I usually also ask them leading questions to help them find the mistake on their own.

Saurabh S. - Columbus, OH 43212 (6.3 mi) - Physics Tutor - $32.50/hr.
I have tutored middle and high school in Science and Math and have helped friends with MCAT and GRE preparation. I have been a Teaching Assistant in the graduate school and have spent a considerable amount of time helping undergraduate and fellow graduate students with biology concepts both theory and laboratory work. I have a passion for learning and sharing knowledge. I hold two masters' degrees in Biomedical Science and Neuroscience and am working towards a Doctoral Degree now. I have published Scientific Papers in reputed Scientific Journals. I have the ability to simplify the most difficult concept and use illustration to teach. I do not believe that students should memorize each and every word of the subject matter. Education is like a building and knowledge earned at every step of the way should be a brick in the wall. I have trained in yoga and meditation to help release and mana

Style is one-on-one. The tutoring is flexible to accommodate different people's styles. However, tutoring is what one makes of it. I work in the compliance/legal field in banking with over 15 years of experience with an educational foundation of a B.A. in Economics and a J.D. (i.e., law degree). I'm multi-lingual with fluency in Spanish, German and Polish. I have well over a decade of tutoring experience predominantly in economics, various math topics, Spanish and various subjects of law, in addition to LSAT prep.

• Provide technical assistance to field personnel and training customers.
• Conduct in-house training.
• Develop training course materials and course catalog.
• Assist in development of documentation for service & training manuals.
• Assist with the technical development of the diagnostic knowledge base. I have worked for 26 years in the power electronics industry this experience combined with teaching and tutoring experience in three different countries (Venezuela, Canada and USA) provide me with a different teaching style. When teaching I use analogies to connect science to things you know and do. I use a visual approach to diagram concepts and make them more understandable.

Rosa K - Dublin, OH 43017 (4.4 mi) - Physics Tutor - $34.00/hr.
Taught AP, Honors and Regent level Biology and Honors Physics at Preston High School in NY
Most of my students recieved Mastery or above on state exams at the end of the year. Most of my students scored above 620 on the SAT biology subject exam.
Tutored throughout my college years the subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology. My methods are rather traditional. I beleive that there is no way around hard work. I will explain the problems in many different ways in order for the student to grasp a particular concept. I also am a irm believer that the more problems a student does, the better they become in doing the material.

I love sharing my knowledge and working with children. I believe all children can learn, but each in different ways. I love to help children find academic success. I am patient, easy going, and considerate. My goal is to provide the best education possible. I believe all children can be successful because all they need is to have the appropriate surroundings and learning experiences. I am graduated from UCAD in Senegal and Maine University from France, I have a lot of knowledge of tutoring. I have earned a Masters degrees in Organic Chemistry, BS in Physical Sciences, which has enabled me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. In addition, I have learned extensive writing during my training course in the laboratory. During 1998 to 2006 I tutored students in math, chemistry and physics

As a tutor, I strive to help the student stay up to date in the subject matter, improve his or her understanding of the fundamentals, and achieve a strong level of confidence with the material. This requires integrating frequent question asking into my demonstrations. Separate topics within either science or math can often be linked conceptually, allowing me to review current material with a student while still breaking it down in a way that addresses his or her needs. I believe that the blend of demonstrating and questioning I use helps the material sink in effectively, prepares the student for unexpected challenges, and allows me to get a continual feel for areas in which he or she still needs assistance. I recently received my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from Brandeis University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with Highest Honors in Neuroscience. This fall, I will begin a N

Christian L - Columbus, OH 43220 (5.4 mi) - Physics Tutor - $34.50/hr.
During my undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY, where I majored in chemistry (chemical physics track), I had the opportunity to tutor in the Math Learning Center (MLC). As a tutor in the MLC, I was able to tutor students in algebra, precalculus, and calculus. In my graduate studies in chemical physics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), I was a graduate teaching assistant in a general chemistry laboratory for two non-consecutive semesters, in which I proctored general chemistry experiments, graded lab reports, and gave a brief lecture as well. Furthermore, due to my history minor in college, I have acquired a great propensity for writing, especially on historical topics. I believe the teaching/tutoring profession is indispensable for transmitting knowledge from one generation to the next. I consider teaching to be a two-way process,
