I use the Orton- Gilingham multi sensory approach.

I Have worked for the Davis County School district for 12 years. The last few years I have been working intervention for students who are not performing at grade level. I have learned that not all kids can learn the way they are taught in school. My 8 year old is dyslexic. I Have studied the Orton-Gilingham multisensory approach to reading and spelling. I have also learned to engage children in activities that are fun and creative. I will not be doing the same teaching style as there school.

Some pupils are very hardworking.They always do what they are asked to do.Some would bring dictionaries to school.So ,whenever , there are new vocabulary, they would refer to their dictionaries but the funniest thing is that these pupils do not know how to choose the best meanings to the words they found. They don't know whether it is a noun,adjective or verb.And some of them would take any meanings as long as there is a meaning to it. I was an American Read tutor at two elementary schools. I worked with kindergarteners and third graders to enhance their reading skills. In a one on one setting with approved books and kept them on track will goals that we set to meet each each. While I earned a bachelor's of science in Zoology where I took human anatomy. I have also tutored my younger four siblings through school.
I get to know the student first and see how best he/she learns. and go from there.
