I have been a tutor for the last few years, and I officially became a level 1 and level 2 certifiet tutor through the college reading and learning associations. I have worked with students and peers in basic math, and algebra subjects as well as biology and advanced science courses. I am a recent college graduate with a degree in Biology and minors in chemistry and psychology. I graduated with honors and I am also a former student athlete. I know a great deal about how to work with students as my mom is n elementary school teacher and I have volunteered with her classes multiple times and I have also given pitching lessons to younger kids in my hometown. I have also had experience working with my peers and college aged students as I worked as a course tutor throughout my time in college.

I do not have a particular style of teaching. I prefer to talk to the individual I am tutoring and together discover the best way to teach them the subject material. I believe that everyone learns information at a different pace and that some information is easier to process than other information. I believe that individuals should be comfortable while learning in order for them to actually learn. I would never force someone to learn "my way" and would work with them on developing a way that works for both of us. I would also focus on teaching proper study habits so the individuals can apply them and possibly not need a tutor in the future.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that each child learns in a different way, and as a teacher it is my challenge and duty to teach in such a way, to approach the problem from enough different angles, that each student would understand the concept at hand. I love that challenge. I am easy going, patient, and I relate well to children. I look forward to learning with and from each student I encounter.
In 2002 I graduated with a degree in biotechnology. During the last semester of school, I was a substitute teacher, where I learned a lot about children and different teaching styles.
