A Little Bit About Me...

My current occupation is working as a paralegal. However, I am looking for opportunities to transition into the field of education. My passion and natural abilities are best suited for nurturing and teaching children. I volunteer as a teen mentor with the Hervey Foundation. I have developed some teaching strategies through the tutoring with two different tutoring agencies Be Smart Tutor and A+ Achievement Inc. With both tutoring companies, i have tutored students in Math, Reading, and Spelling.
Learning is the first step to success, and I am a big advocate on academics. I take pride in teaching and making sure that the student is learning properly. I do not have a specific teaching style. Everyone is different, so one particular type of teaching style may not be as effective as another. In order to be effective, I think it is important to recognize the students strengths and weaknesses before embarking on a certain learning path.
I have a Bachelor's degree in History and an Associate's in Process Technology. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I possess excellent math skills and took statistics in college. I enjoy helping others and feel I am a good fit for this position.

I traveled to schools to give presentations on my marine mammal experiences to grades K-8.
