As a substitute teacher in the Bethalto school district, I feel I have been trained in all of the subjects necessary to tutor students. On a daily occurrence, I teach math, science, english, reading, social studies, etc. My specialties are english and reading. English was my minor in college and is something that has always been second nature to me. I was also a personal tutor for a child in the spring of '08 an fall of '08. As a non-traditional student I was more mature when I returned to finish my degree than when I had originally gone to school. As a result I graduated Suma Cum Laude and was awarded the Competitive Graduate Award from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville to begin my graduate education. Subsequently, I was awarded a teaching assistantship and have taught as a TA for the last two semesters in social statistics. While finishing my MA I have also been teaching at the community college level for the last year.
