I graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1999 from University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a degree in Elementary Education and Communications. I am also National Board Certified in area of Middle Childhood Generalist. I am certified 6-9 and 9-12 English. I have taught 4th grade for 2 years, 5th grade for 5 years, 6th grade for 1 year, 7th and 8th grades for 3 years, 9 and 10th grades for 1 year and 11 and 12th grades for 2 years.

When tutoring students I try to take a multidimensional approach. I attempt to show the child, explain it in my own words, have the student explain it in his/her own words, and then have them apply and practice so that the material really sticks.
Throughout high school and college I helped numerous classmates develop efficient ways of studying as well as providing assistance to learning and understanding the given material. During high school I mainly tutored my neighbor's young children in elementary subjects. In college I helped fellow classmates in my major and minor.
