I enjoy working with children of all ages. I believe that because each child is different, they learn differently, and therefore I must find a teaching style that helps that particular study achieve their maximum ability. I understand that some students are more visual while others may be auditory. I consider myself to be patient and understanding, and I believe that all children can meet their potential if they are given the appropriate tools to assist them. Since elementary school, I have known the value of a good education and I have always had a strong drive and love for learning. I have earned a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science and a master's degree in Applied Exercise Physiology, which has allowed me to attain knowledge in diverse areas of science. Also, I have acquired extensive composition skills due to scientific research/laboratory reports, as well as essay assignments in my other areas of study. With my Bachelor's degree, I began tutoring through Reading Success and conducted private tutoring of Georgia History. I progressed to teaching English, Spanish, and some Special Education Resource classes at the High School level, and continued to teach lower level English classes at a local college along with reading in an Adult Continuing Education program through another college. My writing skills have been sharpened as I edited and wrote articles for newsletters, newspaper releases, and in an administrative capacity.
I enjoy teaching and do my best to make learning fun and easy for my pupils. I approach lessons by letting the student realize how and why the lesson is important and how it relates to their lives. I firmly believe everyone can learn; the style in which they learn may differ from others, but given the correct approach, all teachers/tutors can be successful.
