I am a graduate of Houghton College. I graduated from this liberal arts college on May 12th of this year with a Bachelor’s degree in English/Writing and with a minor in Psychology. During my time at Houghton College, I was very involved with the student-run publications that the school offered. I have been fortunate to have a variety of experiences during my teaching career, 29 years total. As a reading teacher, special ed. teacher, and elementary teacher I have taught most subjects at all levels. During my my most recent experience work at the FingerLakesDDSO I prepared students for the GED as well as taught life skills to developmentally disabled students. Through the extensive teacher preparation program at SUNY Geneseo, I had a wide variety of experiences. As a member of Kappa Delta Pi, I worked with an ESOL student to tutor him in humanities. I also worked in the Access Opportunity Program area, in which I tutored students in English and math. I have continued to gain experience through volunteering with Turkish refugees in the Mt.
