Different students have different 'keys' to learning. I utilize a flexible approach which seeks to 'unlock' the potential in each individual student.

Professional Exam Prep and Subject Tutoring

During my time as Head Tutor at UNCA, regardless of department, I tutored over 200 students in mathematics and physics. Of those students, at least 80% saw an increase of at least one letter grade and at least 20% saw an increase by two letter grades. Many students I tutored in one subject came back to be for tutoring in the other. For many of my students I served as an invaluable mentor who guided them from their earliest days as a college freshman to the day the walked across the stage and earned their degree. I began 'teaching' as the head wakeboarding instructor at Coble Ski School in Lillington, NC, when I was a junior in high school. Shortly thereafter I took a position working at a beach resort in Pensacola, FL, where I spent an entire summer instructing surfing, kayaking and sailing. At Duke I tutored during each of my four years, either biweekly at a local Durham elementary school or at the Emily K Family Life Center.
