If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.
All I do is tend to my students needs. I'm personal. Like to get off track with my students and lead them back to the point.

Proficiency is acquired with methodical steps.

I am a credential-holding elementary school teacher with experience ranging from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Also, I have tutored children and adults in English language arts, from basic grammar to college composition writing. Further, I tutor other academic subjects: social studies, history, literature, general science, basic computer skills and creative writing. I hope that I can be of use to you!
My approach is simple: assess the student's academic weaknesses, review the strengths, then teach the new material in order to bridge the content or skill. "Scaffolding" is the best means by which to teach so that the student understands the significance of the lesson. Too often, teachers play sage-on-stage, thereby neglecting to connect what the student already knows with the new material.

Social Studies is one of my top subjects! I can help any student understand or remember their history lessons.

Patience and kindness are a must. Also I'm careful not to push when someones not ready.

( Fish, Cats, Rabbits,Dogs, and birds.)I'm free from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. weekdays and 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. weekends and summer vacation. I can tutor, babysit, and take care of animals.I know how to cook basic things so if your looking for a babysitting tutor and will be away your child will be in good hands. My strong suite is probably science and history. I can help almost anyone improve their test grades ( as long as they are trying ) I'm not the tutor for someone struggling in Math past elementary levels though because I don't think I'd be able to help anyone entering algebra. ( I find it too complicated to explain.)I'll make learning fun for your child and will definitely hav ... read more

Tutoring is a profession which I have enjoyed for over nine years, often while teaching in the classroom or online, concurrently. I was able to teach multi-subjects to college students because I excelled in all subjects myself, receiving numerous scholarship awards and honors. I chose after school tutoring as my extra duty assignment while teaching middle school and high school. I enjoy tutoring students because I experience the moment of “Ah ha, now I get it!” with them.
I am eclectic in my approaches towards teaching, ranging from Montessori and Classroom Without Walls, to Behaviorist and Cognitive approaches. I use what is observable, measurable, and works. I am always prepared to pull a rabbit out of my hat, and I always prepare additional alternative lesson plans in case an approach does not seem doable. I begin tutor sessions with interviews to assess goals. The ultimate goa ... read more

For the past two years I have been substitute teaching in the Romoland School District. I graduated from college seven years ago and after graduating I started the procedure of getting my teaching credential but never completed the process. I did, however, observe two different children in two different classrooms. I, also, worked at In-N-Out Burger for six years during which time I helped different employees learn different aspects of the job. I have three children ranging in ages 5 1/2 through 11 months who I teach every day.
I enjoy teaching children and seeing their faces when something clicks in their head. This year my oldest son has started kindergarten and it has been an amazing experience seeing how much he has learned this past year. I substitute teach two days a week and I really strive to use different ways to teach the children because I know that not every child ... read more

Before earning my BA in Mathematics from California State University San Bernardino, I was employed by Perris Union High School District as an Avid Tutor and had the opportunity to run my own contracting service company at the same time. As a result to my previous jobs and schooling, I have learned many unique and effective tools when handling or assisting in problems or issues. In addition, the Avid tutoring position increased my instructing skills in mathematics due to tutoring the subject for more than 6 hours a day. I have tutored from Algebra 1A to Calculus CD.
Teaching is my dream, mainly because observing someone’s success and triumph enlightens my day. I always carry a quote that better expresses my views, "We must view students not as empty bottles to be filled, but as candles to be lit." Furthermore, I believe my communication and instructing skill have increase dramatica ... read more
