Makes science and math easy to understand

I've been tutoring at a college level for over two and a half years. I aim to take the more complex material and make it super easy to comprehend. Students have very stressful lives on their own; learning needs to be made fun and engaging. I attempt to do just that. Personally, I struggled with math in high school, so I came up with fun, easy ways to remember what to do. Learning is a process, like any other. The most effective way to learn is to first start by figuring out how you learn as an individual and using specific techniques that will make information more meaningful to you. A Little Bit About Me...

I taught high-school math for 14 years, everything from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, in both public and private schools. I also have extensive writing experience, including for many newspapers, and am currently teaching Political Science at the Community-College level. Thus, I could tutor math, and/or any subject or assignment that required verbal and writing skills. I tutored UTK athletes in math and philosophy, and proctored Pre-Calculus at UTK as well.
My teaching style can be called old-fashioned: the best results come from patient, focused, disciplined time on task. To learn math one must work a variety of problems, and practice them diligently. My strength as a tutor is my ability to explain the algorithms in a way that students can easily grasp. This includes the vitally important requirement of why the problem is worked the way it is, not simply how.
