I enjoy teaching students of all ages, with varying learning skills. I believe education is best provided in an environment that challenges the student, and encourages growth. My ability to assist students in retention, is accomplished by helping him/her to understand underlying principles, often through examples, discovery, and comparisons. As a former English major and editing minor at Brigham Young University I helped many students write and edit research and English papers. Along the way I also had the opportunity to edit an engineering Master's thesis. I have tutored in paper writing in various subjects as well as specifically tutoring in creative writing. I have worked with and on over thirty papers. I work very well one-on-one with students and am able to explain and teach what is necessary for better papers for the present and for the future. All of my students have received A grades on their papers.
I am able to help students build their papers from the bottom up and go through completed papers and give assistance. I feel that I am able to teach and explain the elements that are required in a paper so that students may write better papers in the future. I greatly enjoy the one-on-one experience.

Building a good relationship with a child is key to helping them learn. When good relationships are developed children can then trust the teacher or tutor to help them in whatever way possible. This relationship builds a good emotional bank account and children will do hard things when asked. I know that all children can learn. I have seen it while working with the wonderful children at the school I worked at.
I recently graduated from Brigham Young University in April 2011. I am a graduate in Communications can help in English, Writing, Editing but also took AP Calculus and AP Statistics and passed both tests. I love math but feel that communicating through writing is very important. During the last two years I have worked at an Elementary School as Para Professional tutoring children in Math and Reading both in small groups and one-on-one. I love helping children learn!

During my graduate year at San Diego State University in the School of Education I worked at one junior high school teaching U.S.History and one high school teaching an English class. The next year I subbed for the public schools in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I also taught Ecology and Conservation for the Camping and Education Foundation from 1971-1974, in International Falls, Minnesota. I was also a ski instructor in Innsbruck, Austria. Since then I have taught sales and marketing skills for small groups of professional adults. I enjoy teaching at all levels and seem to have a rare rapport with students of all ages.
