I believe that when the basic concepts of math and science are mastered, the complex concepts become simple. These subjects also need to be taught using real life examples so that students can see the importance of learning them. Finally, I believe the worst thing that an instructor can do is to ask student to use and memorize equation that they don't understand. I will always insure that a student will understand the why and not just the how. Anyone can become a master of math and science if they have the desire and are taught effectively.
As a recent graduate form BYU-Idaho, I have gained a greater appreciation for how important it is to learn the basics of math and science in order to succeed.
