I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning. I believe that each student has their own style of learning and soak up information differently then other students. I myself like to learn visually and hands on. I have tried many styles of learning to see what works for me. I record lectures, take my own notes, like to question myself while I'm studying for a test. I think connecting something to something you already know will help you retain that new information very well. It makes me feel great when I know I have taught someone well and that they actual understand the information and are not just regurgitating what I am telling them. I love working with people. I don't care who they are or what they do as long as I can help them in anyway. I lke to see people reach their goals without doubt. I am an easy going person and anyone would tell you that. I listen to other very well. I am always willing to help student that need help. I remember when I was their age and I needed help and no one was there to help me. I am just one of them type that love to help others and reach their goals. I don't like to see anyone fail.

During my experience as a tutor, I like dealing with the type of student who is willing to learn and put forth an effort. I like to show students how to solve the problem and then give them an opportunity to display what they have learned. Math is a difficult subject and it is important to learn the dynamics step by step. I would prefer to help the student who wants to learn and retain versus the crammer who wants to try to learn everything the night before a test. I would like to work with a student on a continuous basis so that I can see the progress being made and see how my tutoring has made a difference. I graduated from the University of Memphis in December 2005. During my time at the U of M, I tutored college level math courses. I took Calculus I, II, & III and did well in all three.
