As an experienced K-12 substitute teacher, my work extended from the inner city to the county schools. I had the opportunity to instruct students with various ability levels and learning styles. During the 2008-2009 school term I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA in a middle school working as tutor, special projects assistant, and mentor. A Little Bit About Me...

During my graduate program at SIU, I become a teaching assistant and fell in love with teaching. I taught undergraduate laboratory in microbiology and bacteriology to undergraduate students. I have earned a bachelor's in Biology from Augustana and am finishing writing my thesis to obtain my Master's in Biological Sciences from SIU. Since I have written and critiqued my thesis, research papers, lab reports, and other science papers, I have gained much knowledge in grammar. Teaching has always been my passion. To be equiped for that, I went to school and earned a BS in Sciences of education. This degree not only prepares me to teach subjects like French, history, math, but also it helps me to perform school administration work. I have also earned a Master's Degree in Leadership Studies from Lincoln Christian University which not only enables me to tutor but also to mentor.
