Honors High School Graduate with experience in teaching

My lessons can range from private lessons to group lessons of no more than five at one time. I prefer to be very involved in my students' progress, and will readily explain any questions that they do not understand. My main strategy is basically to lay out the concepts that will be covered that day, go over several practice problems, and give three or four practice problems for the students to work on independently. For art students, I will demonstrate with explanation the concept that we will be covering in that lesson (be it portraiture basics or still life basics), draw diagrams with the steps clearly labeled, and have the student independently work on a similar piece which applies the same concepts. I believe that most students need to first understand what a question is asking, (we all assume what is being asked yet never give it a great deal of thought) then proceed to elaborate on the wrong answer. I graduated from UNF in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in the field of Management. The degree required classes in Accounting, Finance, Algebra and Economics. Mathematics has risen to be one of my preferred subjects, tutoring this subject for a year to date.
I do believe that all children have the ability to learn the subjects however not all children are in the right mind to do so.
