I have over 25 yrs experience with the Spanish language. Having attended a language school before entering Latin America for indigenous relief work, I attained the knowledge of one of the most beautiful languages, Spanish. Then, while living within the culture the language became part of my being. I have taught children of all ages throughout the years. I love the language and sharing it with others.
I have a relaxed teaching style, it has to be fun! Practical, conversational drills are the best avenue to teach a language. If you are in a course, or your child is having difficulty at school with a spanish class, I will gladly instruct from the materials provided to you.

Learning through culture and language

I teach in a style which combines different tactics and methods in order to engage the students in the subject. In example, when teaching foreign language I make it a point to incorporate the culture of the native people and their customs along with music and art.
Recently graduated, I have taken four years of Spanish. I taught Spanish III and Spanish II last year with classes ranging in size from 31 to 25 as well as having taught French I and French II in the same year. I typically employ the Socratic method: asking questions to discover what the student knows (or thinks he knows) and guiding his thinking toward discovering the knowledge himself.
