i like to aproach the lesson with fun tactics so the student will be interested and paying attention. i am a high school student. I have completed three years so far. I have always maintained A and B grades and recieved awards for attendance, grades, and extracurricular activities. I love writing poetry and truly enjoy reading poetry as well.I have experience in writing my own poetry for the stage as well as other creative writing outlets. I would love to help someone find their voice within the realms of poetic fodder and see just how creative they don't even know they are! :) I don't like to tell you what to learn, but rather guide you to see it for yourself, allowing you to come to the right conclusion on your own. All students learn at different levels. I like to incorporate all the learning styles of students. Some learn by hands-on, others by listening, and some by writing. These are all used by me. Each student has their own learning style and a teacher has to help each find what works for each student and then incorporate this to meet the needs for that particular student. Education cannot be mass-produced. One style does not fit all. Reading is extremely important to the success of a student. Education is the most valuable tool and weapon to get out of poverty; and it is something no one can ever take away from you. I have 17 years in the classroom and 5 years of education to attain this. I believe everyone will respond well to individualized instruction when the tutor studies the student's learning style and offers the information in the form best suited to each learner. I am patient and encouraging with students. I work hard to find ways to present a subject so that each learner will find it interesting. I am the author of five historical novels and a number of articles, poems and short stories. I occasionally do short “residences” teaching Language Arts and Drama to special needs students in k-12 schools for VSA Arts of Florida. My graduate studies emphasized American and Tudor/Stuart History. My doctorate included a Criminal Justice minor. I regularly teach writing and grant writing seminars to adults, usually through libraries on weekends or in the evening.
