I have loved working with children since I was a teenager. The school of Education in North Carolina prepared me well. I am above all flexible. My license reads K-8 and I have taught Art K-6 for a year, Second Grade for two years in NC. Then in 2001 I taught Title One reading in TN for a year then Fourth grade for three more years. My family moved to Northern VA and I taught Fifth grade there for two years before moving back to TN for a year where I taught 8th grade Algebra, and 7th grade English. As I worked toward my master's degree in English, I discovered not only a love for English and composition, but a love for teaching. I have taught for three semesters; two as a college composition instructor, and one as a women's studies co-instructor. I also supervised a tutoring center geared specifically toward first year college students, and tutored students in writing. I believe that each student learns in their own unique fashion.
