Experience Summary
35 years of Engineering Experience. Graduate Engineer with Math beyond Calculus lll; however, flunked my 9th grade algebra class. I didn't get it. I have taught both my children Algebra l in only five hours before taking the class, and they both got "A's". I'm not a teacher, but just a parent who didn't get Algebra l, but understand why I didn't get it, and now know how to teach kids how to simply get it. This method also helped my children get "A's" in advanced math classes, understanding how to learn math.
Teaching Style
I will teach what algebra is really about in five hours, the basics. In engineering, a common phrase is KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). Give Algebra l a KISS, get all the basics in the book upfront, and do sample problems in each section of the book. You will then understand all the daily mumbo-jumbo of Algebra l, and just need to do more of the assigned practice problems. But you will already know how to do the problems, and why.
