I have mentored various people since 2000, in all types of subjects, including math, science, social sciences, English, writing, literature, and other related subjects. My academic record is very strong, and I believe empowering those I work with every single time. The only pre-requisites are that you have to be willing to learn, and learn how to learn.
I like to use the Socratic method, mainly by asking questions and challenging assumptions. I grew up in Jamaica and my formal years of education were under the british system. This sytem was very student friendly and much emphasis was placed on learning and not testing. I have earned a Bachelors degree double major in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of the West Indies Jamaica. I recently graduated from the College of Charleston with a MS in Environmental Studies. My educational emphasis was in plant ecology, which provided me with experience in botany, geology, and ecology. Furthermore, I specialized in statistical analysis of biological data. I have extensive computing skills in programs ranging from MS Office to statistical programs including R, SAS, Minitab, and JMP.
