I am driven to help others especially through education. I have a BS in Biology and Chemistry from Duke University which allowed me to have in depth understanding of both subjects. Since high school I've been working with my peers to help clarify subject matter, as that was my favorite method of study. In college I tutored under-classmen in Spanish, chemistry, and political science. Since graduating, I've worked with college freshmen as a writing tutor and with middle school students to teach algebra and pre-algebra. I'm a very strong writer, and I've got a broad background allowing me to tutor in any subject through freshmen year to college.
My method of teaching varies with the subject. A spanish tutor and a chemistry tutor can go about things quite differently. I like leading students to find answers on their own so that they understand the paths they are taking. That method is especially helpful in hard sciences and math.
