A Little Bit About Me...

At St. Andrews Presbyterian College, I enjoyed helping fellow classmates write essays and found that my skills in English were immensely useful in all classes. I took a job working at the school library and was paid to help students with research and writing. Last year, I finished my first screenplay entitled "For Sale by Owner", a thesis, and my original TV pilot, which I helped produce at the school. I love working with children and young adults. My challenge as a tutor is to take something that is difficult and make it fun and understandable. Too often students look at teachers or adults as enemies, and I try to take a very laid-back, conversational approach when tutoring. Obviously if the child is being tutored in a particular subject, there is an obstacle or a problem in that area so it is important to build the child's confidence and show them that they can succeed.
