I do not have a particular style of teaching. I prefer to talk to the individual I am tutoring and together discover the best way to teach them the subject material. I believe that everyone learns information at a different pace and that some information is easier to process than other information. I believe that individuals should be comfortable while learning in order for them to actually learn. I would never force someone to learn "my way" and would work with them on developing a way that works for both of us. I earned a CELTA (Certificate in English Teaching to Adults) from Cambridge University in 1999. Upon receiving that certificate I immediately began teaching English to adults. A Little Bit About Me...

In 2002 I graduated with a degree in biotechnology. During the last semester of school, I was a substitute teacher, where I learned a lot about children and different teaching styles. After graduation, I pursued a career as a chemist, but I always maintained a second part-time job teaching, in some fashion. Usually, that teaching involved a pool. I have been a swimming lesson instructor for 10 years and have been a YMCA swim coach for 3 seasons, coaching over 200 children per year. In these opportunities, I've learned a lot about interacting with children. I am also a trainer for my coworkers and new employees who join our team.
