I believe that when students develop a certain level of self confidence, learning comes easier. I place great importance on a student's learning style. While at the California Science Center, where I worked as a science exhibit developer for six years, I learned the value of a constructivist approach to learning. Holding a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, I tutored in a math lab during the summer of my college years and later went into the Peace Corps in Zimbabwe to teach math and science to high school level students. I have also worked as a civil engineer and have directly applied my civil engineering degree in designing grading and utility plans for commercial developments.
