A Little Bit About Me...

I am a tenured teacher at a local public high school. I have a BA in Education, MA in Gifted Education, and an MA in Educational Administration. I currently jold a Career Teaching Certificate for Mathematics grades 5-12. I taught 6th grade mathematics for 4 years, and the past two I have been teaching Algebra I courses.
I have a variety of teaching techniques that I use on a daily basis in my classroom. Although, I am not certified in elementary I work well with the younger kids as well. I am easy going and enthusiastic.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked in both the public and private school settings and have 20 years teaching experience. I enjoy the most the opportunity to work with a child individually because that direct time and attention often makes it easier to assess areas of weakness and how best to adapt instruction to the learner's needs and learning style. One of my most cherished teaching positions was at the Arkansas School for Mathematics and Sciences, a residential high school for gifted junior and seniors. Because science is a "hands-on" subject, I feel it is extremely important to use demonstrations, examples that are relevant to every-day life, experiments and anything else that will help students understand the world around them. I have been told that I have an "out-of-the-box" approach to learning, but have found it to be successful with the majority of students.
