I have taught for four years from Kindergarten to Third Grade. I was responsible for teaching math, reading, english language arts, social studies, science, phonics, and handwriting. Besides teaching at the Elementary level, I was the Gifted Coordinator for students in grades Kindergarten to 12th. I have made accommodations to fit the needs of each student and use enrichment to help students learn to their highest potential. I worked at a child care, tutored over the summer, and coached a multiple amount of activities.

While I am not a teacher by profession, I have successfully tutored a variety of leraners in a variety of subjects, primarily math, english, science. I enjoy working with people and helping them learn in ways that reach them and help them gain understanding and ultimately success. I am positive and creative as well as determined to help each student. I am the mother of 3 children, two with college degrees and one currently in college. I was very involved throughout my children's school years, volunteering in the classroom, tutoring, etc. I have also tutored privately since my children left school. My teaching style will always be based on the students learning style. I have been tutoring grades K-9 for quite a few years. I've also taught a preschool class while in high school. I am currently majoring in Early Childhood Education and Special education at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. I've participated in numerous afterschool programs to help children succeed and give them the confidence they need to step up to the plate and earn the "A" they deserve.

It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students.
