I am a voluntary tutor for students after school and I have been successfully doing that for a year now. You can do this; you do it already by being who you are.

Open, friendly, inquiry-based. I would rather sit around and talk about a book with a student and see what they think of it and help them find meaning than just tell them what it means or go over grammar worksheets. That said, I also like grammar and its intricacies.
