I am patient, warm, and pleasant. What I do is not so much teach the material as a way to learn the material. My methods are to understand the subject matter the students are weak on and learn it with them, displaying that it takes time learning anything and most of the work in understanding subjects are difficult. Learning something with someone makes it easier. It allows for an easier and more constant interaction. I have tutored informally throughout high school and college, both my fellow peers and lower income students. I was part of an ESL mentoring high school program during my time in New York. During my time at college, I created a mentoring committee for underclassman that focused on business related items and school curriculum. As I spent most of my time in groups studying, I learned that I was very good at explaining principles and material, regardless of subject matter.

Her ADHD can inhibit the learning process, but we are able to work through the problems. Learning about weighted blankets helped me work with her. She is a kinetic learner. my nieces are both visual learners. I have to adapt to each learning style. Teaching brings me pleasure.
