I have tutored for a non-profit organization, Life Christian Church, as an after school program on Wednesdays free to the community. I have also taught English and History to home school students. One of the biggest accomplishments was watching of the students who detested writing papers because he did not believe he could do it, grow into a man who is not writing weekly papers confidently. His father told me once, his is writing papers better than he ever would have at that age. I have also taught youth ministry for over 10 years. As a visual learner and instructor, I believe the best way for children to retain information is by breaking down the task itself and visualizing it in stages/phases. Often times children feel overwhelmed by the countless lessons taught inside the classroom, resulting in defeated attitudes and poor grades. With the right learning fundamentals, children can attack their assignments with confidence and ease. I speak from experience as I was an elementary parent's nightmare.
