Since I have worked students with a wide variety of learning issues; I feel that I am well prepared to assess and deliver educational materials and instruction to any student. I understand that each student has his learning style and prefers specific modalities such as: games & puzzles, logical sequential, the arts, naturalistic, etc. Although those would not be the only modalities I would use to educate my students, I feel that I must acknowledge this and respond with a portion of the lessons directed at personal interest. As a college graduate, I was extremely driven to achieve a high level of academic excellence. I earned my bachelors degree in Communication Studies with a minor in Philosophy. These have enabled me to have an understanding of many areas of Language Arts, History, and English. As a Comm Studies major I was held to a high standard of technical writing with essay and would always use credible sources for my research. I love to teach, there is nothing more self rewarding then helping a person who is struggling to achieve something and helping them with their goals. I believe all students can find academic success somewhere if given the correct opportunities and surroundings. I firmly believe that I have been educated by some of the best and these educators have made a world of difference in my life and expectations. Range

I love art and feel very strongly that it should be a very important part of everyone's education. Students are anxious to actively participate. I do a demonstration while I lecture on a particular point, i.e., perspective, form, light, color theory, etc., then let them have time to execute a given assignment in class. At this point I give them personal attention. I have a "critque" at the end of the session and have them participate. I require constructive comments so as not to discourage anyone and to promote the notion that everyone has a unique and valuable point of view . Homework is assigned and I ask students to keep a sketchbook, which should be drawn in daily. I ask to see these ungraded books intermittently throughout the course.
