In my experience with teaching, I find that the best way to connect and convey the information is to provide aural, visual and experiential exposure to the material. Everyone does not learn at the same pace or through the same exposure to material. It is also important to be perceptive to the possibility of student frustration as this is almost always a road block that will arise and if not identified can lead to lower absorption of the material or complete lack of understanding and drive altogether.

I am a recent graduate of Rowan University, however have 3-4 years of tutoring experience. I started tutoring the spring of my sophomore year (organic and general chemistry) and continued tutoring through the university till half way through my junior year. Since then I have tutored directly for the chemistry department at Rowan University as a volunteer tutor. Even after my graduation I have continued to volunteer my services to the University. Over the past 4 years of tutoring, I have tutored in General Chemistry, Advanced Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Quantitative Analysis, Biochemistry, and Instrumental Methods.
