I have been a teacher for over 16 years. I graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in Math. I currently am the Lead teacher at a special purpose school for children with disabilities. Throughout my 12 years of schooling Math has been one of my stronger subjects. I also took a two year accounting course outside of my school. I have experience as an instructor while in the Marine Corps, and during that time I have found that I am really suited to teaching. The idea of giving new knowledge to people of all ages is an exciting one. I have done some substitute teaching at Athens Elementary School. I have found that I get along well with children and that they like me. I have found that children like me and will listen to what I have to say. For the past five years I have been a substitute teacher for MSAD 58. Grade levels I have experience with include K through 12. Working with younger children and teens has always been fun for myself. I think it's good to get to know the student on somewhat of a personal level. This allows for you to understand how the student thinks and learns, since every student learns differently. I am a very patient person and I try to find the best possible learning approach.
