I worked for 12 years as a Special Education teacher in the public school system, teaching students with ADD, learning disabilities, autism, Aspergers, emotional and behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities in a resource room and inclusion setting. I graduated high school in 2008. I then attended West Ga Tech., for over a year. I majored in technical communications and took numerous computer classes. I love computers and Math. I have recently recieved a BS in Biology from Fort Valley State University in May 2010. I am a graduate of an accelerated program called the Cooperative Developmental Energy Program, which is a program that focuses only on the math and science fields and also required me to earn my BS in 3 years while maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above. My teaching style is based on the student’s learning style. Each child is different and may require different teaching methods to facilitate learning. Some children are more visual and may require more interactive exercises to learn. I do not believe in spoon-feeding information to children but taking the time to ensure that they fully grasped the concept of a problem and are able to think through a solution on their own.
