I have taught internship classes and tutored statistics at the University level. I have tutored mathematics from elementary to calculus at a junior college. I have been a GRE instructor for the Stanley Kaplan company I founded, owned and operated the Idaho School of Professional Hypnosis for 10 years, teaching hypnosis and hypnotherapy at a professional level. I co-developed the curriculum, designed the teaching strategy, and was the lead instructor.
I use the Socratic method, meeting the students where they are, and using gentle questioning to build on that base. My comments on tutoring Spanish : I have taken 6 years of Spanish and have many books for reference.

I have yet to professionally tutor anyone, but I have a lot of experience aiding others with homework and questions. I have always received high grades in all of my courses, with over a 4.0 G.P.A. in high school, so I am very knowledgeable and would be able to assist in many subjects. I am also in my third year of undergraduate studies, so I am still learning more and can possibly have access to other resources.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree with a major in Spanish and minors in English and French, I began teaching high school Spanish my first year. Since I married a military officer, we moved often, so I had a chance to do substitute teaching at all grade levels and all subjects. I also developed the ability to adjust quickly to new environments due our frequent moves. It was a way to learn to teach numerous methods depending on the area of the country. I enjoy tutoring children one on one. Many children have difficulties in school because of low confidence levels, which are reinforced in the classroom by very little individual attention. I believe the more comfortable a child feels in her/his learning environment, the easier she/he will learn.
