Law is one of my top subjects! I hold two law degrees and practiced for a number of years prior to teaching a business course in which I utilize legal concepts to teach the course.

I practiced law for over 25 years and since 2010 have taught at Pima Community College. In teaching, I utilize a combination of law, accounting and economics to teach the courses and make the concepts taught come alive by offering real world examples of the application of each of these subjects. I often have classes in which there is a split of some people who are much more advanced than others so I have learned how to reach the struggling student without impeding the progress of the faster student. I have really enjoyed teaching and preparing students to make their way in the world.

Law is one of my top subjects! I have a law degree, and have practiced law for four years. I have taught undergraduate legal subjects for about 25 years, including business law, labor law, environmental law, contract law, constitutional law and domestic relations law. I have taken and passed (first time) four bar exams, specifically, the NY, NJ, CA, and AZ Bar exams.

I will come half-way in providing individualized instruction, expecting that the student is motivated to also come half way. I will use whatever methodology is effective for the individual student, supplementing lectures and one-on-one discussions, with multimedia that clarifies complex concepts. I have always loved learning and the experience of understanding, and try to communicate that love, and engender it in students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught 4 upper division business courses at the University of Arizona: Management and Organizational Behavior, strategy (Eller capstone course Management Policies), business environments and employment law (The Legal, Political and Social Environments of Business), and statistics (Statistical Inferences in Management). I left a Ph.D. program in Organizational Behavior (think Management)with a MS to care for family. I have been a substitute teacher for K-8th grade. I have followed a successful 12+ year career in Human Resource Management and now own my own HR Consulting firm.
What is needed? I like an inclusive interactive style that directly involves the learner. I like to evaluate performance in a varety of methods to determine actual learning. As a University Instructor I was known for being fun, approachable and honest and a hard grader.

I do not believe in hierarchy. I think the teacher-student or tutor-student relationship should be one of equal footing and mutual discovery. This means asking questions together and seeking out the fundamental answers to questions. I think all children and adults deserve a place to learn about themselves and the world around them where they are free to ask any question and challenge any assumption. This does not mean I am a push over and cannot create structure in a lesson. I just strive to do it in a way that does not discourage creativity and authentic discovery about themselves and the world.
