I hold two law degrees and practiced for a number of years prior to teaching a business course in which I utilize legal concepts to teach the course. A combination of lecture and one on one with the student. I practiced law for over 25 years and since 2010 have taught at Pima Community College. In teaching, I utilize a combination of law, accounting and economics to teach the courses and make the concepts taught come alive by offering real world examples of the application of each of these subjects. I often have classes in which there is a split of some people who are much more advanced than others so I have learned how to reach the struggling student without impeding the progress of the faster student. What is needed? I like an inclusive interactive style that directly involves the learner. I like to evaluate performance in a varety of methods to determine actual learning. As a University Instructor I was known for being fun, approachable and honest and a hard grader. I have taught 4 upper division business courses at the University of Arizona: Management and Organizational Behavior, strategy (Eller capstone course Management Policies), business environments and employment law (The Legal, Political and Social Environments of Business), and statistics (Statistical Inferences in Management).
